Introducing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
We are excited to introduce Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as a new treatment option at The Drake Center, along with welcoming Dr. Pravnav Jagtap, a board-certified psychiatrist, to our team.
What is TMS?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment for depression and other mental health conditions. It uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain that are involved in mood regulation.
During a TMS session, a small device is placed lightly against the scalp. This device delivers targeted magnetic energy to activate underactive neural pathways—helping the brain restore healthier patterns of activity over time.
TMS does not require anesthesia, and patients remain awake and alert throughout the treatment. Sessions are typically well-tolerated, with minimal side effects, and patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately afterward.
How TMS Can Help
TMS is most commonly used for individuals experiencing:
Depression that has not responded to medication
Anxiety symptoms
Mood disorders
ADHD
OCD
Difficulty with focus and mental clarity
By stimulating areas of the brain associated with mood, TMS can support improved emotional balance, energy, and overall well-being.
Meet Dr. Pravnav Jagtap
We are proud to welcome Dr. Pravnav Jagtap, a board-certified psychiatrist, to The Drake Center.
Dr. Jagtap brings extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions. With a patient-centered and compassionate approach, he is dedicated to helping individuals find effective, personalized treatment plans—including innovative therapies such as TMS.
His expertise strengthens our commitment to offering cutting-edge, integrative mental health care in a safe and supportive environment.
Our Approach: The Power of Integration
At The Drake Center, we believe that the most meaningful and lasting healing happens when advanced treatments are combined with intentional integration.
While TMS works to support and restore healthy brain activity, our best outcomes are achieved when TMS is combined with The Way of the Butterfly—our signature integration program.
These integration sessions help patients process, reflect, and embody the shifts happening in the brain through creative expression, mindfulness, and guided therapeutic support. By pairing the neurological benefits of TMS with deeper mind-body integration, patients are better able to translate change into lasting transformation.
A Holistic Path to Healing
TMS is a powerful addition to our offerings, complementing our work in psychotherapy, ketamine-assisted therapy, and immersive healing experiences.
Our goal is to meet each patient where they are—providing personalized options that support healing of both the mind and body, and empower lasting change.
